In Hindu culture a formal puja consists of meditation, chanting mantras, offering food and aarati to conclude. Shani puja is done to keep away all the troubles created by Shani Bhagwan. Here are some of the ways to perform Shani puja.
Shani puja is done on Saturdays. The person has to fast on the day till sunset. Wake up early in the morning, bath, and wear fresh clothes. Then sit in front of the Shani idol and meditate. Then offer water to the lord to bath and drink. Then place the lord in the seat and offer clothes and holy thread with sandalwood paste. Then decorate Lord Shani with flowers and offer food, fruits and chant Shani mantra 108 times. Then offer fragrance and at last ask for forgiveness. One can visit any Shani temple and feed poor people and offer clothes on the particular day. One can also say Samarpayami and offer 2Akshatha that is uncooked rice to Shani Bhagwan.
